Masahiro Higashide welcomes new baby boy
5 Feb - Masahiro Higashide has announced the arrival of his child, sharing the happy news with fans on 3 February through social media.
In his announcement, the actor kept his message simple but heartfelt, writing, "The baby is born. Both mother and child are safe. A brief report for the time being." The newborn, revealed to be a baby boy, is Higashide's first child with current wife Karin Matsumoto.
The couple's journey together became public when Higashide announced their marriage in August 2024 through his official YouTube channel. His wife, Karin Matsumoto, was later identified as a former actress.
In 2020, Higashide faced public scrutiny when news broke of his extramarital relationship with actress Erika Karata, which had begun in 2017. At the time, he was married to actress Anne Watanabe, whom he had wed in 2015.
Following the revelation and his public apology for his actions, Higashide's marriage to Anne ended. The actor, known for his role in "The Sound of Grass," has three children from his previous marriage with Anne.
