DJ Koo devastated by the loss of Barbie Hsu
4 Feb - Koo Jun-yup (aka DJ Koo) is devastated after confirming to the Korean media that his wife of two years, Barbie Hsu has passed away.
Speaking to the media as soon as his sister-in-law Dee Hsu confirmed the rumours of Barbie's passing, he said that the news is not fake and that he is "not okay."
This was further confirmed by Barbie's close friend, Janet Chia, who mentioned Koo's situation when she came to bid farewell to Barbie as soon as news of her passing came to her knowledge.
"You were calm and seemed to be sleeping as usual. It breaks my heart, but I had to let you go. (Koo Jun-yeop) eventually gave you a deep kiss and said goodbye for the last time. Our hearts were torn to pieces when we heard him cry," she posted.
Koo and Barbie met at CLON's Taiwan concert in 1998 and started dating soon after. However, the two broke up a year later with Barbie eventually marrying Shanghai businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011.
Following her divorce in 2022, Koo tried his luck by contacting Barbie again, and they tied the knot four months following her divorce from Wang.
In an interview following his marriage, Koo said that he was "a man living the happiest days".
