Barbie Hsu's passing: Zhang Lan mourns the loss of former daughter-in-law
4 Feb - Barbie Hsu's former mother-in-law Zhang Lan recently took to social media to express her sadness over the actress' passing.
On 3 February, the businesswoman, who was blasted by netizens for continuing to do her live streaming amid reports of Barbie's death, posted a message on social media, "May Yue'er's mother go to heaven and rest in peace."
"Wang Xiaofei and I, as the children's family, are willing to lend a helping hand if there is any need in handling funeral affairs," she added.
Zhang said that Barbie's passing is a loss for them as well and a heavy blow to the children.
"Our first priority now is to comfort and protect the two children. This is the common responsibilities of the two families," she added.
Meanwhile, son Wang Xiaofei has already arrived in Taiwan to be with the family.
Barbie and Wang tied the knot in 2011, four months after their meeting, and had two children together. They ended their marriage in 2021, with the actress subsequently marrying her old boyfriend, DJ Koo.
News of Barbie's sudden passing was confirmed by sister Dee Hsu, saying that the actress passed away on 2 February while holidaying in Tokyo due to pneumonia stemming from influenza complications. She was 48.
