Bobbi Brown's Soothing Cleansing Oil and Lathering Tube Soap review: As good as before?

If you are thinking of setting New Year resolutions for 2024, why not make it a beauty resolution? How many times have you done a half-hearted job at cleansing your face just because it was late and you were just dog-tired from the night’s revelries? I am guilty of leaving traces of makeup on AFTER I have double-cleansed my face. Soo much effort! But hear me out. This year, I resolve to take better care of my skin and ensure all traces of makeup are removed from my face before I apply my nightly skincare routine. And I swear to remove all traces of lipstick stuck in the crevices of my lips too! And while you are at it, take note to cleanse your face with makeup remover as long as you have applied sunscreen. Yes, the usual cleansing foam must be accompanied by makeup removers to effectively remove sunscreen residue. Why stinge on yourself?
Clean skin is healthy skin
Ensuring that our skin is clean from all gunk, makeup, and sunscreen is key to radiant, healthy skin. Last year, I was introduced to Bobbi Brown’s Soothing Cleansing Oil and was duly impressed. And of course, I have shared its amazing benefits with you my beloved readers. What's not to like? Be it bringing to the gym, to a short getaway, or a long trip, pick from the three sizes available in 30ml, 200ml, and 400ml. Surely, one of these sizes will fit into your lifestyle.
And because it comes in a clear container, it makes it not only easy to see how much product you are left with, its plastic container also makes it lightweight enough to carry around town or overseas. Plus, its twist and lock dispenser makes it all so convenient to use. Tested and proven (by yours truly!) to gently remove the waterproof eye, face, and lip makeup, Bobbi Brown's latest iteration with a new and upgraded formulation ensures that it melts away impurities that cause clogged pores. Or so it claims. Let's put it to the test, shall we?

Bobbi Brown’s Power Cleansing Duo
This year in January, Bobbi Brown launched the Power Cleansing Duo – the Soothing Cleansing Oil and Lathering Tube Soap now comes with enhanced formulations.
When I tried the Soothing Cleansing Oil, the product retained everything that I loved about it. Even though it was ‘oil-rich’, it lived up to its claims of being ‘lightweight’ and effective. The Bobbi Brown’s Soothing Cleansing Oil makes makeup removal so easy and convenient. All I had to do was dispense the product onto clean palms and gently rub it all over my face, including my eye area. No extra steps or additional costs on cotton pads.
New skin-loving ingredients
With such a great product, I can’t imagine how the scientists in the Bobbi Brown laboratory can make this makeup removal product any better. There are, however, three new skin-loving ingredients in the new formulation. First up, the new and improved formulation comes with the Nourishing Botanical Oil Complex with skin-softening Meadowfoam Seed Oil. Next, the Tamanu Oil comforts the skin surface, thereby revealing a glowing complexion. Finally, the Tsubaki Oil deeply nourishes the skin while thoroughly cleansing off pollution and impurities, preventing clogged pores.
Lathering Tube Soap
For thoroughly cleansed skin, pair the soothing cleansing oil with Bobbi Brown’s Lathering Tube Soap. These two are touted as the ‘power cleansing duo’ and now that I have used them in tandem, I can’t bear to separate them in my new cleansing regimen. Bobbi Brown’s Lathering Tube Soap, as its name suggests, comes in a tube (not soap) and dispenses a white creamy liquid. As per a number of my favourite Bobbi Brown products, it comes with a pleasant hint of grapefruit, lavender, and rosemary that instantly uplifts and comforts me.
Rich and creamy, it was super easy to apply on the face and massage away. A mere trickle of water and a pea size dollop was all that was required to build up a rich, pillowy foam. Thanks to its moisture-charged cleansing technology which comes with glycerin and a coconut-derived amino acid, the skin’s hydration levels are not compromised. Said to boost hydration for eight hours post-rinsing, my skin did feel extremely comfortable immediately after cleansing and had none of the tight and tugged feeling. The product felt extremely gentle on my face and according to the brand, the non-acnegenic formula helps to ensure pores are not clogged. Best of all, it accomplishes its job of cleansing well.
Are the Bobbi Brown Power Cleansing Duo any good?
To be honest, I had great expectations of the new formulations for the Power Cleansing Duo having tried, and loved their predecessors. Having tried these two newly launched products for weeks, I was once again, impressed by their effectiveness. My skin looks clear and I would wholeheartedly recommend these skincare products, especially when used together.
