Jack Tan takes home Best Supporting Actor trophy at Malaysian Film Festival

9 Dec - Although it was almost expected of him to win, Jack Tan recently admitted that he didn't think he had the chance to win Best Supporting Actor at the Malaysian Film Festival (FFM33) on 7 December.

The actor, who bested contenders Syafiq Kyle, Wan Azli, Sharnaaz Ahmad and Kaho Hoen to win the trophy for his performance in "Abang Adik", said that he only attended the event as a way to support all of the filmmakers.

"I arrived from Taiwan earlier just to show my support without expecting anything. But I am thankful to all the jury members, and the producers of Abang Adik for this win," he said.

He added, "It reminds me of my first FFM attendance eight years ago through my debut film, Shuttle Life."

As for "Abang Adik" competing in the Best International Picture race for the Oscars, Jack said that he hopes to see the film make its own history.

"Maybe it will achieve success at the Oscars? Who knows?" he added.
