On average, most healthy adults need at least seven hours of a good night's sleep or they won't be able to function properly the whole day. However, according to Eric Zhou with the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School, "Some people need less than seven hours, while others might need more."

Some individuals may even be able to operate with just four to five hours of sleep, depending on the sleep quality, which is how well we sleep during the night. Factors like waking up a few times during the night, and how fast we fall asleep can contribute to the type of sleep quality we get.

Research has even shown that poor sleep quality can lead to a higher risk of heart disease, stroke and mental health issues like depression and anxiety. While some of us incorporate soothing scents to help us sleep better, the quality of your bedding also plays an important part.

Singaporean brand Sunday Bedding aims to encourage better sleep quality with its range of bed linens that are designed for a good night's sleep. Ethically and sustainably made without any harmful chemicals or synthetics, the bedding company makes their bedding with an in-house factory which was awarded the Made in Green stamp by OEKO-TEX certification.

Launched in October 2023, Sunday Bedding has introduced a new colour, Pine Green, to invoke calmness for a night of better sleep. Inspired by the shades and silhouettes of the great outdoors, the new shade is meant to help customers bring the outdoors in and build an evergreen sanctuary in our homes. The colour green is associated with nature, and is advantageous to our bodies as it can help you destress and sleep better.

The Pine Green colour is available in its best-selling Bamboo Sateen fabric, which is incredibly soft, silky and drapes beautifully. It is also moisture-wicking and great for those who sweat easily at night. Often compared to silk, bamboo is incredibly soft and pliable, and a good option if you heat up or sweat easily. Sunday Bedding's bestseller bamboo sheets are sustainably harvested and use less water to produce.

As part of the launch, the brand is collaborating with LayerPlay, Singapore’s leading art book and creative printer, to curate a series of Removable Wall Decal designs. Choose from five wall decal designs that were selected to pair effortlessly with the Pine Green Bamboo Sheet Set. Enjoy 15% off both products when purchased as a bundle.

How to wash your Sunday Bedding sheets

When it comes to laundry day, pop your sheets into the washing machine. Wash on cool using mild detergent and with similar colours. Line dry or tumble dry on low.

Please avoid using fabric softeners and harsh liquid or powdered detergents. Also avoid products containing benzoyl peroxide, chlorine bleach or alpha hydroxy acids. Do not wash your sheets with clothing as zippers and hooks can cause abrasion.

Can you spray essential oils on the sheet?

Yes, you can. When spraying on your favourite essential oil or perfumed mist on your sheets, remember to spritz them at a distance away and not directly at the sheets to avoid stains!
