Angelababy's drama is finally airing after two years

23 Jan - Tencent WeTV surprised many by premiering the long-shelved Angelababy-starrer, "Everlasting Longing".

On 20 January, the drama, which co-stars Song Weilong had five episodes released simultaneously via the said platform, making it her first return to the screen after two years.

It is noted that Angelababy was rumoured to have been silently banned by the Chinese censorship after she was accused of attending BLACKPINK Lisa's Crazy Horse cabaret show in Paris in late 2023.

While both the actress and the Crazy Horse team denied this, Angelababy found herself getting all her activities halted, her TV appearances edited out and her Weibo account frozen.

The drama, which is an adaptation of the Xi Juan novel, "The Stolen Bride", stars Angelababy as Jun Qiluo, a daughter of a business family who leads a double life as Jun Feifan, the illegitimate son of the family.

Meanwhile, Song plays the role of Xuan Lie, a rival leader who abducts Jun.
