Chantel Yiu says winning TVB award was a surprise
23 Jan - Chantel Yiu recently admitted that she was surprised but elated that her song, "This Home" won Most Popular Drama Theme Song at the TVB Anniversary Awards.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who made her first public appearance at a mobile app event on 21 January following the event, stated that she had no idea that the song, which is the theme song for "Come Home Love: Lo And Behold", would win amid many other great contenders.
"I had the opportunity to sing this song while I was studying in New Zealand at the time. After receiving the notice, I recorded the song there. It felt so magical... Now that I have won the award, I am happy to be recognised. I hope everyone will remember this song," she said.
Meanwhile, Chantel dismissed the idea that she has been taking over a lot of projects that were supposed to go to Gigi Yim, who was allegedly frozen by TVB over her refusal to renew her contract.
"We all have different work arrangements. She also congratulated me for winning the award," Chantel added.
