Ajak Shiro denies showing off good deeds to Ebby Yus
31 Dec - Comedian Ajak has denied the notion that he was showing off when he decided to gift Ebby Yus the second branch of his restaurant, Bumbu Babah in Central Market for the latter to manage and share the profits.
The former member of the comedy duo Shiro stated that his intention was nothing more but as a way to help Ebby, who can no longer work much in showbiz due to health complications that include heart and kidney disease.
"I was thinking of a way to help Ebby to survive. I mean, I am not that well-to-do to be giving him money every month. So that's the only way for me to help him. The profits made at the branch in Pasar Seni will be given to him," he said.
Ajak said that it might not be a lot of money, but he hopes that it will help Ebby pay his rent and utility bills.
Nevertheless, the comedian also expressed hope that the public will continue to assist Ebby with his life despite him giving Ebby a job, even if the latter is not the type to ask for it.
"I am not doing all this to win praise. I just want to help a friend in need because there is a lot of artistes who need help when they are ill. I hope that when the video goes viral, more people will give their support to Ebby," he added.
