Zhao Jinmai and Zhang Linghe reunite in new drama
14 Aug - Zhao Jinmai and Zhang Linghe are set to reunite in the upcoming new TV series, "Our Generation" (also known as "Cherry Amber").
The drama, to be produced by Noon Sunshine, is adapted from the novel of the same name by Yunzhu, and will be directed by Zhang Kaizhou of "The Story of Ming Lan" fame.
In the drama, Zhao plays the heroine Lin Qile, a small-town girl who met a gifted guy named Jiang Qiaoxi when she was young and formed a sincere friendship but had to part ways soon after. After a misunderstanding due to a letter, the two meet again in high school and taste the bitterness of youth, experience growth with their classmates, and move towards a broader world.
The collaboration between the two sparked a lot of interest as it was just recently that Zhao and Zhang worked together in "The Princess Royal".
It is noted that the project was first announced in March this year at the 28th Hong Kong International Film and Television (FILMART).
