YouTuber Rene Huang admits to cheating on Soya
5 June - Taiwanese Youtuber Rene Huang recently admitted that he had cheated on Malaysian social media influencer Soya, not long after the latter announced the end of their four-year relationship.
As reported on Oriental Daily, on 3 June, the content creator went on his Super Awesome channel and apologised for his wrongdoing, saying, "I am not looking for excuses. It was wrong of me. Soya has always been very good to me."
Rene stated that he had actually proposed to break up twice during their four years of dating but that they always ended up reconciling. However, this time, he realised that his feelings for Soya was different than before and that the situation was made worse when he met and fell for social media influencer, Shi Jing.
Rene said that he had planned to end the relationship for good after returning to Taiwan from a trip to Thailand with friends. However, the affair was exposed when Soya found a love letter he composed for Shi Jing.
The YouTuber said that he did not handle the relationship well and ended up having two relationships at the same time, adding, "If cheating is a crime, I really hope to go to jail now."
In the end, Rene said that he and Shi Jing had expressed their deepest apologies to Soya, and would not interfere with each other's lives or appear in the same frame in the future. They also decided to take a break for a while before coming back to film.
