Mainland actor Liang Youcheng dies of suspected influenza
7 Feb - Another actor has passed away following complications from a flu infection.
Actor Liang Youcheng, 27, was reported to have died from what he originally thought was a common cold, which deteriorated rapidly and spread into his central nervous system.
He was declared dead on the second day of the Chinese New Year.
His friend stated that Liang was still chatting online prior to his passing, with the actor telling him that he was very uncomfortable due to his sickness.
It was alleged that because of his worsening condition, he did not choose to return to his hometown to reunite with his family, but stayed in the hospital alone until he died on the second day of the New Year. No one was by his side before his death.
Liang, who had been in the industry for a while now, had played various supporting characters in dramas like "My Heart" and "Echo of Her Voice".
The news of his death came amid the shock over Barbie Hsu's passing. The actress was revealed to have died from pneumonia stemming from influenza complications.
