The names on this year’s most-searched international male celebrities have earned their positions with controversial acts, critically-acclaimed acting, and unfortunately, their passings. Here are Yahoo Singapore readers’ top ten most searched international male celebrities of 2020.

10. Kanye West
Most known for being a rapper and the brains behind Yeezy, Kanye West announced on Twitter in July that he would be running in the United States’ 2020 presidential election. The rapper had also gone on a Twitter rant in a series of now-deleted tweets, which his wife, Kim Kardashian, later asked the general public to view his tweet-storm, caused by Kanye’s bipolar disorder, with empathy and kindness.
9. Justin Bieber
2020 sees Justin Bieber premiering his Seasons documentary series, along with various high-profile music collaborations with singers such as Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper, and Shawn Mendes. All of the proceeds from his song with Grande went to the First Responders Children’s Foundation, which funds grants and scholarships for children of first responders and health care workers who worked on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2020, Bieber was accused of sexual assault by an anonymous woman on Twitter, who claimed that the singer had made non-consensual sexual acts toward her. The singer denied all accusations and took legal action against the accuser.
8. Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt was restored to single status in late 2019 and had reunited with Jennifer Aniston 15 years after their divorce at a fund-raising table read for Fast Times At Ridgemont High during the pandemic. The pair flirted in-character, fueling gossip that they might be reconciling, but Pitt is, however, at that time, reportedly dating model Nicole Poturalski, who is 29 years his junior. Pitt will be starring alongside Emma Stone in Babylon directed by Damien Chazelle, and in Bullet Train next.
7. Sushant Singh Rajput
Known for his works in the Hindi cinema, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead, hanging from the ceiling fan, in his home in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June 2020. His death was treated as suicide.
Rajput had bipolar disorder and had reportedly shown signs of clinical depression. His film Hotstar, delayed by COVID-19 pandemic, was posthumously released on the Disney+. It broke records in the film’s first 24 hours viewership, having gathered approximately 95 million viewers.
6. Tom Hanks
Known for his roles in Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and being the voiceover star for Sheriff Woody in Toy Story film series, Tom Hanks was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award and Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2020. On 12 March 2020, Hanks announced that he and his wife had been tested positive for COVID-19 and were admitted to the Gold Coast University Hospital for care. Following their recovery, the couple had also donated their blood antibodies for virus research.
5. Prince Harry
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, announced in January 2020 that they would be stepping back from their role as senior members of the royal family. The couple first lived in Canada before moving permanently to California. In April, the Duke and Duchess had jointly selected Feeding Britain, which provides food packages to families in food poverty, to receive the £90,000 from the broadcast of their wedding ceremony.
4. Aaron Kwok
One of the “Four Heavenly Kings”, Hong Kong singer-actor Aaron Kwok performed in an online charity concert, held in support of the Hong Kong Dance Performing Artistes Association. It was also the first time the singer-actor allowed the media to take photos of his two-year-old daughter, Chantelle Kwok.
3. Lee Min-ho
South Korean actor Lee Min-ho, who rose to fame with his role as Gu Jun-pyo in Boys Over Flowers, was cast in Netflix’s romantic-fantasy drama The King: Eternal Monarch, which is his first TV series following release from the mandatory military service. One of the most anticipated series in the first half of 2020, the series set a record for SBS’s highest 2020 Friday-Saturday drama premiere ratings but was received with mixed reviews.
2. Alien Huang
Better known as Xiao Gui, Alien Huang was a Taiwanese singer-actor-host. Huang was pronounced dead on 16 September 2020, after his father discovered him lying unresponsive on the floor in his apartment with external injuries to the head. The autopsy concluded that Huang died of aortic dissection, but found no history of cardiovascular disease.

Topping the list for Yahoo Singapore readers’ top ten most searched international male celebrities is South Korean actor Hyun Bin.
Starring opposite Son Ye-jin in the hit romance drama Crash Landing on You, Hyun Bin’s role as a North Korean army captain captured both viewers’ attention and hearts. The actor was praised for his emotional range and acting skills, winning the Presidential Citation Award in the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
Hyun is set to star as a NIS agent in thriller film, The Point Men, based on the 2007 South Korean hostage crisis in Afghanistan and its subsequent rescue mission.
