I Not Stupid actor Joshua Ang announces divorce after two years
SINGAPORE – Former actor Joshua Ang, best known for his role in Jack Neo’s I Not Stupid and its sequel, announced on 14 December that he and his wife, air stewardess Shannon Low, are going through divorce procedures.
In an Instagram post, he shared a photo mosaic of his ex-wife with a “Happy Divorce” sticker and captioned it: “Divorces are made in Heaven. Finally some bit of good news; should I have some champagne or cake?”
Ang, who had refused to comment on his relationship during The Diam Diam Era press conference, asked everyone to congratulate him on the divorce rather than feeling sorry for him.

The former actor followed up with another post, saying that Low had been posting allegations against him and that they are going through multiple court cases: “Don’t believe what you read or hear on the Internet”.
Last night (15 December), his ex-wife Low had also shared a series of Instagram Story, stating that Ang “can lie and victimise yourself to the media. Forever deprived of attention.” In a screengrab shared on Hardwarezone forum’s thread, Low also confirmed an eyewitness’ post about how Ang shouted vulgarities at his wife and son, stating it is “just one of the many abusive incidents after marriage.”
The couple first met four years ago as classmates at Murdoch University. He proposed in December 2017 and spent almost S$50,000 on their Sentosa beach wedding in March 2018. The pair had a baby son, Jedaiah, in August 2018.
Low also alleged that Ang cut water, electricity, home insurance and Internet access without informing her, resulting in inconveniences for her and her son. While she was away from home for work, his antics were caught on camera, showing Ang phoning a locksmith to “damage the digital lock”. She alleged that Ang, instead of just taking his things, “loot the whole house. Leaving the house in a huge mess.”
Ang shared on his Instagram story that he is “staying silent to the things she’s done, now. Because I don’t need these to be blown out of proportion.” He said that Low had filed a Personal Protection Order (PPO) in June, which was dismissed in October by the District Judge. He is, however, going through an Access Order as Low had denied him access to his son for 194 days.
He had also written in his Instagram story that he will be suing Low for libel and will “commence legal actions against her tomorrow, and will spare no expense for my reputation.”
