Hong Kong singer Eason Chan will be staging an online charity concert, Live Is So Much Better With Music Eason Chan Charity Concert, on 11 July (Saturday) at K11 MUSEA and Yahoo Singapore will be live streaming the concert.

In support of the Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association, Chan, whose hit songs include Ten Years, K Song King, Flavors, and more, will be performing twice on Saturday at two different locations. The “Sunrise” concert will take place from 6 - 630am, and the “Sunset” performance from 5 - 6pm, with a replay of the Sunrise concert.

“Sunrise, sunset represents a day, and regardless of how difficult the day had been, the sun will still rise the next day. Hoping that everyone has confidence, strength, and support to tide through the pandemic together,” Chan shared, with regards to his charity concert.

With over 200 days without any concerts held in Hong Kong, the association seeks to support those in the entertainment industry, such as backstage crew, whose livelihoods had been adversely affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Singing for free, Chan had also roped in industry friends to develop and plan the concert, picking some of his biggest hits to be included in the performance.

The online concert had also generated nearly 100 jobs for those who had been affected by the lack of events in Hong Kong since the pandemic.

To date, the association has also received over HKD$5 million in donations, which will be going to affected industry members of the association.
