Vincent Wong frustrated by new drama released online

9 Aug - TVB actor Vincent Wong admitted recently that he feels quite frustrated that fans can binge-watch his drama "Legal Mavericks" on iQiyi instead of watching it on television, as reported on Mingpao.

The aforementioned streaming service, which also co-produced the drama, recently released all the 28 episodes online, which means that Hong Kong viewers need not catch the show every weekend on television until its finale on 24 September, and could just finish watching all episodes on iQiyi.

It also means that the drama's viewership ratings are jeopardised.

When asked about it recently, Vincent lamented that the cast and crew worked hard in order to give the viewers a great drama and an interesting finale, and feels helpless that some could just skip ahead and watch all episodes online.

"While it's also great to get a lot of clicks online, we need to have an impact on the Hong Kong viewership ratings as well," he said.

On the other hand, Vincent revealed that TVB has already started reviewing the issue, adding that a lot of improvement has to be made to the model of cooperation between the two different platforms.
