What I tried: Dr Jart+ Cicapair Sleepair Ampoule-in mask
Who: Reta Lee, Head of Commerce
What I like about it: I’ve been using this gel-like texture cream on my face for about two weeks now. What I like is that it’s light, and contains cica that immediately soothes redness and skin irritation. It absorbs pretty fast and doesn’t stain my pillowcase. The morning after, I feel like my skin has a little perk-me-up!
Who should get it: If you want to treat your skin with extra TLC.
What I tried: Shiseido Men Total Revitalizer Cream
Who: Blake Ng, Audience Development Strategist
What I like about it: I've been using this product for five months since my chemist friend recommended this moisturiser. What I like about this product is how my skin feels fresh and light after using it in just a week. I have a combination skin type, and since using this product, my skin has been producing much less oil on the T-zone area, especially at the end of the day.
Who should get it: This product suits you if you have a combination skin type like me. However, the moisturising agent is more effective for those under 35 as it is not greasy.
What I tried: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick (Pillow Talk)
Who: Nisha Rahim, News and Lifestyle Producer, Yahoo Southeast Asia
What I like about it: I've been using the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk for around two weeks now, and I'm genuinely obsessed with it! The formula is incredibly nourishing, setting it apart from other matte lipsticks I've tried. Applying it was a breeze – no tugging or dragging like some mattes tend to do. And can we talk about the colour? It's just so flattering and adds a touch of elegance to any outfit!
Who should get it: If you're searching for a lipstick that complements your features with its warm shade and offers a soft matte finish to enhance your lips' appearance, look no further!
What I tried: [Sephora-Exclusive] Tarte Maracuja Juicy Blush
Who: Liz, Audience Strategist
What I like about it: I was initially slightly intimidated by the bright pink colour of the blush, so I only started using it for a few days. But upon (careful and timid) application and blending, the bright pink sheered out and left me with a surprisingly gentle pink with a dewy finish, which I LOVE. Also, even with additional layers of blush on the cheeks, my skin still felt comfortable. The product also contains tiny bits of glitter, but it's not apparent when applied. Since it stains the skin, it is excellent for an entire work day.
Who should get it: Those who are still in their Barbie era get a Big Ego. The packaging and colour of the blush alone will make you happy. And those who love a dewy finish in their face makeup.
What I tried: Tartelette Energy Amazonian Clay Palette
Who: Stephanie Zheng, Lifestyle Editor
What I like about it: I got this palette a couple of months ago and finally used it during a trip to Seoul. I regret not opening it sooner cause it's my current go-to palette. There's a nice blend of shimmers, neutrals and glitters, making it a versatile day-to-night palette. The best thing is how pigmented they are and how the colours blend effortlessly.
Who should get it: If you're looking for that one palette to bring around and maximise usage, this is it.
What I tried: Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Essence Toner
Who: Amanda Lek, Audience Analyst
What I like about it: I've been using the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Essence Toner for about half a year and emptied it! On first use, I was pleasantly surprised by its lightweight texture and how it delivers impressive hydration for my dry skin. As someone with sensitive skin, this essence toner worked wonders without irritation. It is now a product I can't do without for my day and night skincare routine!
Who should get it: A must-try for anyone looking to give their skin extra love and hydration!
What I tried: [Sephora-Exclusive] First Aid Beauty Anti-Chafe Stick
Who: Cadence Loh, Lifestyle Editor
What I like about it: You know what they say about prevention better than cure? It is so true for this product! Chafing is a very real first-world problem for those who love to work out but experience the discomfort of the skin rubbing together excessively, sometimes leading to soreness and/or painful blisters. I love cycling and motorbike riding, but I often end up with a sore bum, which takes the pleasure out of these two activities. This anti-chafe stick has helped me counteract sore bums and painful blisters, especially after long hours of riding. The product comes in an easy-to-apply stick, which allows me to manoeuvre along the contours of my body. Plus, the shea butter ingredient makes it so easy to glide along the skin, without leaving any sticky residue. This could be a lifesaver for runners, too! Try it! Best of all, this product is safe for sensitive skin, fragrance-free, cruelty-free and vegan.
Who should get it: Runners, hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists and anyone who is annoyed by the friction of the thighs.
What I tried: [Sephora Exclusive] Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand, 12ml
Who: Cadence, Lifestyle Editor
What I like about it: I look pale and washed out, and blushers do wonders for my complexion. This cream blusher has three colours to pick from: Dream Pop, Peach Pop and Pink Pop. Extremely blendable, you can gradually build the intensity to achieve the desired look. I got the Peach Pop, and all I needed was a very tiny smudge before applying it to my cheekbones. I instantly look more radiant upon application, making me feel like I constantly have a holiday glow. This will last a long while, as a little goes a long way! Word of caution: Remember to twist and close the opening before capping it to prevent liquid from oozing!
Who should get it: Those wishing to add holiday vibes to your look.
What I tried: [Sephora Exclusive] Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Genius Serum
Who: Cadence Loh, Lifestyle Editor
What I like about it: I love having thick eyebrows. After a botched eyebrow embroidery session, I was disturbed as it left some empty spaces in my brows. Since then, I have been using this product for a few months. Even though I sometimes forget to apply it, I have seen some signs of hair growth in my sparse eyebrows. Parabens-free, vegan and cruelty-free, what I love about this product is how easy it is to use. Applying it is a cinch; best of all, it does not leave any residue or stickiness. Plus, you can use it as part of your skincare routine, under your makeup or even at night before sleep.
Who should get it: Those who wish to have a fuller brow appearance or would like to have a more polished look.
What I tried: Jo Malone London Lavender & Moonflower Pillow Mist, 50ml
Who: Cadence Loh, Lifestyle Editor
What I like about it: I suffer from chronic insomnia and have resorted to several methods, from drinking chamomile tea to misting products to using more lavender-scented products. This pillow mist has a pleasant and light scent of lavender, which was not over-powering like some other products I have tried. All I did was spritz on my pillow, putting me in a very good mood. The light scent also helps to induce sleep.
Who should get it: Chronic insomniacs and those looking to enhance your night-time ritual.
