"Squid Game 2" actor Park Sung-hoon apologizes for accidental adult content post
31 Dec - "Squid Game 2" actor Park Sung-hoon has found himself at the centre of controversy after an unfortunate social media incident involving inappropriate adult content related to the Netflix show.
The 39-year-old actor, who portrays the transgender character Hyun-ju in the series' second season, inadvertently shared the DVD cover art of a "Squid Game" porn parody on his Instagram Story.
It was reported that the incident occurred when Park accidentally shared the image that he had received via direct message. Though he quickly removed the post, many followers had already seen it, leading to significant backlash in South Korea. The timing was particularly unfortunate as it coincided with the country's week-long national mourning period following a tragic Jeju Air accident.
Through his agency BH Entertainment, Park expressed deep remorse for the incident, stating he was shocked by what had transpired. The agency explained that the post was the result of pressing the wrong button while viewing a direct message, and assured that the actor would exercise greater caution in the future.
Park gained particular recognition for his role in "The Glory" and more recently received critical acclaim for his sensitive portrayal of a transgender woman in "Squid Game 2".
