Shizuoka Fair brings Japanese delicacies to SG, until 16 Jan

Singaporeans have a soft spot for Japanese culture. Their glorious landscapes, beautiful culture, and mouth-watering cuisine have all become favourites among locals. Many even go on trips to the Land of the Rising Sun regularly. The Shizuoka Fair brings a taste of Japan right to our shores.

From now until 16 Jan, Isetan Scotts Supermarket will feature a curated variety of Japanese treats and F&B products.

The pop-up event will feature treats from the Shizuoka prefecture in Japan. This region is home to the grand Mount Fuji and offers beautiful views of the vast Pacific Ocean. It is a famous spot for tourists seeking an escape into nature.

Shizuoka stands out as a food hub and is home to many high-quality food products. At the Shizuoka Fair, you will get a taste of these premium tastes and flavours.

The Shizuoka Fair offers a variety of desserts and drinks like the Assorted Mount Fuji Sable Cookies ($30.60 – S$42.30) and the Yuzu Blend Tea from Kaneju (S$27). You can also purchase some Shizuoka produce like Amela Rubins (S$12.90 per pack), Benihoppe Strawberries (2 packets for S$45) and Wasabi (S$15.90 per piece).

If you’re looking for a full meal, you can try the savoury delights from the Mount Fuji area like the Yakisoba Dish (S$10.90), Wagyu Menchi Katsu Burger (S$8) and Wagyu Ricebowl (S$18).

The Shizuoka Fair is not just about food. It is a cultural experience. Food is what unites us and, by experiencing the food of the region, we are able to identify the beauty of the people and their way of life.

On top of the scrumptious food, the pop-up will also feature live performances on 11 Jan.

Renowned composer and pianist Gabriel Hoe and a group of Yamaha Music students will be putting on a showcase for visitors. Head on down from 2pm to 4.45pm and catch them in action.
