Mawi postpones 20th anniversary concert to respect flood victims

17 Dec - It looks like fans will have to wait for the Tsumawi wave a little bit longer, as it was revealed that Mawi's upcoming January concert has been postponed to July.

The news was shared by organiser Show Tag Asia, saying that the concert, which was originally scheduled for 25 January 2025 at the Mega Star Arena Kuala Lumpur, is now moved ahead to July 2025.

The company said that the decision was made after taking into account the current situation, especially to respect fans from states affected by the flood disaster. The latest report from the Malaysian Meteorological Department also confirmed that the Northeast Monsoon (MTL) is expected to last until March 2025, which makes the original date less suitable.

"We understand the difficulties faced by the community at this time, and based on concern and priority for the safety and well-being of all parties, the decision to postpone this concert has been made. This postponement also gives us the opportunity to ensure better preparations, thus offering a better concert experience to all fans. We believe this step is in the best interests of all parties involved," they added.

Tickets purchased at @santaiticket remain valid for the new date, and any further development will be updated via the organiser's official website and social media platforms.

It was back in September that the former "Akademi Fantasia 3" champion announced that he is holding his first concert to celebrate his 20th year in the industry.
