Yuki Kashiwagi: I wanted to be a part of Morning Musume!

17 Dec - Yuki Kashiwagi recently admitted that prior to joining AKB48, she aspired to be a part of another idol group, Morning Musume.

The 33-year-old singer shared the story on the MBS variety show "Tzukai! Akashiya TV", saying that she has been a fan of the group since she was seven, and that her most favourite member was Kei Yasuda.

"I was really glued on to the TV whenever she's performing. She stood out the most to me," she said.

When it was mentioned that Morning Musume has lots of fans among celebrities, Yuki confirmed this, saying that she even sat next to Rino Sashihara at a Morning Musume concert before she herself joined AKB48.

She then admitted that she had auditioned for Morning Musume lots of times but failed to get in.

Asked how many times, she responded, "Four times."

When mentioned that she was able to join AB48, Yuki light-heartedly responded, "Anyone can get into AKB48."
