"The Last Dance" breaks RM10 Million in Malaysia, touches audiences across generations
4 Dec -Anselm Chan is elated that his movie, "The Last Dance" is doing very well in Malaysia, breaking RM10 million in just 18 days.
The director, who attended a press conference alongside his lead actress Michelle Wai following their appearance at the Asia Pacific Film Festival - where the film won four awards - said that he would definitely bring lead actors Dayo Wong and Michael Hui to Malaysia if the film continues to do well.
"Seeing how the movie touched and helped so many people made me feel the magic of movies for the first time," he said.
Meanwhile, Michelle said that she is relieved that the film attracted attention of audiences of different ages.
"When the movie was first released, I was worried that the audience would not be able to accept this work that focuses on life and death," she said.
The film has already broken HKD 115 million at the box office, making it the biggest domestic box office success for Hong Kong.
