SINGAPORE – Kwon Jung-yeol, a South Korean indie-folk singer who performs under his stage moniker 10cm, will be performing together with his band in Singapore for the first time ever on 18 November 2019, 8pm at Esplanade Annexe Studio.

10cm is the original singer behind the OST hits “My Eyes” from 2017’s most talk-about Korean drama Goblin (starring Gong Yoo) and “Lean On Me” from 2019’s hottest Korean drama Hotel Del Luna (starring IU).

10cm made their debut in 2010 with their first EP and has since became a household name in Korea. 10cm was initially an indie duo and the name of the band refers to the height difference of the two members. Due to personal reasons, guitarist Yoon Cheol-jong had to leave the pair. Main vocalist Kwon, however, continues as a one-man band on his own under the name of 10cm, bringing acoustic-folk music to their fans. Since the debut of their EP, the most well-known hit single is “Americano”.

10cm’s first official album 1.0 sold over 20,000 copies. 10cm won “This Year’s Discovery Award” at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and “Best Pop Song Award” for “Tonight I’m Crazy” at the 2011 Korean Music Awards.

In the same year of the release of their debut album, their song “Hold Me” reached #16 on Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. A remake of the song, titled “Hug Song”, was released in 2013 as a collaboration between 10cm and Orange Caramel. Another of their successful hit singles, “What The Spring??”, peaked at #1 in South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart in 2016.

Chen from EXO had mentioned on a radio show that 10cm was one of his dream collaborators as he had been listening to his music since high school. In 2017, 10cm and Chen then co-wrote a new song “Bye Babe” together.

Kwon had also participated in popular Korean singing variety show, King of Masked Singer. His voice captivated the audience and panel of celebrities, which eventually led him to having two consecutive wins as Mask King.
