Juliana Evans says no to playing homewrecker roles
9 Jan - Che Puan Juliana Evans is not interested at all in playing a homewrecker in any future projects, saying that such a character is neither challenging nor good for women.
The actress, who was asked for her two cents during her appearance at the premiere of the new movie "Bisikan Dosa" recently, stated that she would not be doing any roles that she considers a cliche.
"I will not take nor would I want to play a homewrecker. It seems like every drama has that kind of character and it seems too easy for me. As an actress, I do not want to be known for a character that degrades women," she said.
Juliana said that she would rather do roles that can benefit the audience, and by that, she means playing a strong woman who is able to defend her rights.
"That is much better than playing a woman who steals people's husband," she added.
It is noted that Mimi Lana recently became a household name after playing the antagonistic homewrecker in the hit drama, "Andai Tiada Dia". The drama was followed by another series about marital woes, "Curang Tanpa Niat, where the third party is played by Sharifah Sakinah.
