Fortunately, they did! The new management team, which includes two former employees and a long-time client, is keen to preserve the brand’s legacy. Despite receiving bids of S$1.2 million to purchase the firm, the original owner elected to lease the shop at a below-market cost to assure continuity.

The rebuilt business, which has since changed its name from Wen Dao Shi to Bao Zuan Shi, retains its renowned staff and trademark dim sum selections, with plans for future expansion. The stand is managed by Chen Aijiao, the Boon Keng shop manager, a regular client of the central kitchen pastry chef.

The former owner still occasionally pays visits, assuring a smooth transition and maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for high-quality dim sum. Regular customers have reacted positively to the reopening, eager to support the new management and eat their favourite dim sum dishes again.

The staff is devoted to sustaining the founder’s high standards and is excited to introduce new menu items while keeping customer favourites. Their mission is to continue delivering a warm and authentic dining experience to all dim sum enthusiasts in the Boon Keng neighbourhood.
