Yuka Kinoshita retires from "big eating"
3 Feb - Japanese YouTuber and competitive eater Yuka Kinoshita recently announced that she will no longer be a "big eater" influencer.
The content creator, who is popular for her "live eating" videos where she would consume between 5,000 to 23,000 calorie meals, announced her retirement on 31 January via her said channel.
"I will be 40 years old on 4 February. It is very hard to be a big eater now. I feel very tired before I am full, and my physical strength has declined a lot. I can eat, but I don't have enough physical strength. I want to eat more but I feel very tired," she said.
Yuka said that since being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, she found that the food one eats will affect one's brain, which is why she decided to adjust her diet.
However, Yuka stressed that retiring from her genre of content does not mean that she is retiring from YouTube and will disappear, but that she will still occasionally post videos of her eating.
"You can think of it as a lottery. Sometimes you will be selected as a big eater," she said.
