Xenia Chong admits struggling from mood disorder

18 Jul – Hong Kong model Xenia Chong admitted that she suffered from a mood disorder following the issues concerning her love life and career in 2016.

As reported on Mingpao, the model who appeared at the launch of Kat Lai's new book, "Magic of Happiness", admitted that she lost a lot of weight and struggled with her emotional health following her breakup from Steven Cheung and her subsequent problem with her management company.

"My mother helped me the most. She was worried that I would do stupid things and have suicidal thoughts, so she flew to Hong Kong from Australia just to keep me company. Every day we would look through the photo albums and revisit memories of my childhood," she said.

She added that she is coping better now, and is thankful for the wisdom she gained from the past experience.

Xenia made several headlines back in 2016, which started with her breakup with singer Steven Cheung, who reportedly cheated on her with another woman.

She later admitted to another report that she was once married, and denied another rumour alleging that she was having an affair with married mogul Alvin Chau.

Then in September the same year, following reports of Xenia terminating her contract with her management company, former manager Marie Zhuge released a statement saying that they will be taking legal action against the model for her ex parte termination, and denied Xenia's allegation that the company has forced her to accept a project that she was uncomfortable of doing.
