Watie Hanifiah admits losing RM 100,000 in investment scam

19 Feb – Watie Hanifiah recently admitted that she has lost RM 100,000 in an investment scam, making her one of the many who have been duped by the scheme.

Talking about the scam to the media recently, Watie said that she became interested in the 'investment' after seeing how many people received high returns that enabled them to buy various assets.

She still went on to invest against husband Shuib's advice.

Said the entrepreneur, she only found out about the scam back in January, when she was about to fly to China for business.

"Maybe this is what happens when you go against your husband's wishes. Maybe God took this away from me to show me how stubborn I had been. I am just thankful that Shuib didn't invest along with me, or we would have lost even more money," she said.

Despite being scammed, Watie said she has no qualms talking about it so that it can raise awareness among the public.

"I won't blame anybody because there will always be scammers everywhere. We have to be cautious," she added.
