Wang Feng's protege Zhang Hengyuan passed away
16 Jun – Wang Feng's protege, Zhang Hengyuan has recently passed away.
The news was shared by the rock singer on his social media account on 14 June as an open letter to the singer's widow, writing, "Bi Xia, a few days ago you told me about Hengyuan's condition. At that time, the heartache is beyond words... At this moment, he has gone to a beautiful and peaceful place, where he no longer has the pain of illness and worldly affairs. From now on, the most important things are you and your child."
"You have to be strong and take good care of your child and family members. You all need to be well. This must be Hengyuan's last and deepest wish. I promised that no matter what kind of difficulty it is, I will help you."
Zhang, who won second place in the second season of "The Voice of China" as part of Wang Feng's team, was previously diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Zhang also tied the knot with fellow contestant Bi Xia last year, and welcomed their son in August.
He was 36.
