New in town: Orh Huat Bak Chor Mee — Minced meat & pig liver noodle stall in Chinatown Complex by relative of popular Ah Orh Seafood Restaurant

The gigantic Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre has just added a new stall to its already impressive roster. Orh Huat Bak Chor Mee is the newest addition to the hawker centre, located on the second floor.

This news was shared on Facebook by Melvin Chew, the founder of the popular Hawkers United – Dabao 2020 group. According to Melvin, Orh Huat Bak Chor Mee is helmed by a relative of Ah Orh Seafood Restaurant, a well-known Chinese restaurant in Bukit Merah.

Melvin added that Orh Huat Bak Chor Mee is hidden in a “blind spot” of the hawker centre, which could potentially put it at a disadvantage, especially given how large Chinatown Complex is. Hence, he urged the public to support the stall.

Ah Orh Bak Chor Mee’s menu is relatively simple— there are only 3 dishes available for order. Fans of classic bak chor mee noodles can opt for the Minced Meat Noodle (S$5/S$6), while the Pig Liver Noodle (S$5/S$6) is a more unique option, topped with slices of liver.

Finally, grab a simple but comforting bowl of Fishball Noodles (S$5/S$6) if that’s what you prefer.

Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre once again proves itself to be a haven for food lovers. In 2023, the hawker centre has welcomed other stalls— Taste Good 好味小厨, the Sim Lim Square stall known for its salted egg chicken rice, opened its second outlet within Chinatown Complex in May, while Huong Que Quan Vietnamese Cuisine was unveiled in the green zone of the hawker centre in March.

If you decide to pay a visit to Ah Orh Bak Chor Mee, be sure to check out other notable stalls in Chinatown Complex, such as the Cantonese zi char eatery Yuet Loy Cooked Food, the legendary Heng Ji Chicken Rice and home-cooked economical rice stall Ye Ji Cooked Food.
