New in town: Katong Mei Wei — Son of popular Katong chicken rice stall opens eatery at East Village

Katong Mei Wei Boneless Chicken Rice is a really popular hunt at Katong Shopping Centre known for their generous portions as well as free-flow achar and soup. For those living around Changi and Tanah Merah, good news for you! The son of the popular chicken rice stall, Soki, has just opened his very own place named Katong Mei Wei at East Village on 25 Feb 2023.

Soki together with business partner, Kelvin, are offering chicken rice with just steamed chicken (no roast chicken available here) along with new food and drink items on their menu.

Customers can choose different parts of the chicken which includes Chicken Rice w Chicken Breast (S$6.50), Chicken Rice w Chicken Thigh (S$6.90) and Chicken Rice w Chicken Drumstick (S$7.20).

Alternatively, if you dine in a big group, you can give the Whole Chicken (S$38) or Half Chicken (S$19) a go.

There are also various side dishes like Iberico Char Siew Pork (S$6/S$7.50/S$11.50), Cold Tofu (S$3.50), Fried Chicken Wing Vietnam Sauce (S$6.60) and Fried Chicken Wing Korean Sweet Soy Sauce (S$6.60).

To quench your thirst after all that delicious food, you can check out their series of Ice Shaken Teas such as Elderflower Strawberry (S$5.60) and Sacred Passionfruit (S$5.60). Your little kids can also enjoy their yummy milkshakes with options like Matcha Marshbellow (S$6) and Nutella Chocobi (S$6.50).

As this is a cafe concept, do expect prices to slightly differ from their original outlet at Katong Shopping Centre.

I guess I’ll have a new place at East Village to dine at next time.
