Michelle Yeoh mourns former co-star Barbie Hsu: We lost a shining star!
10 Feb - Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh has expressed her grief over Barbie Hsu's passing, sharing memories of their collaboration through social media.
On 8 February, the Malaysian-born Hollywood star posted several stills from their 2010 film "Reign of Assassins" on her Instagram account.
"Shocked and deeply saddened we have lost a shining star... RIP dear Da S. Heartfelt condolences to the family and all who love you," Michelle wrote.
The film, co-directed by Su Chao-pin and John Woo, featured Michelle as an assassin seeking a normal life after receiving guidance from a monk. Barbie portrayed Ye Zhanqing, an assassin from the Dark Stone gang who was trained to replace the leading assassin Xi Yu.
This project was among seven films Barbie appeared in during the early 2010s before her marriage to her then-husband Wang Xiaofei.
