New in town: 豐记 Chinese & Western Food Restaurant — Authentic Penang fried kway teow, prata-crusted pizza, western delights under one roof
Ever struggled to decide between Chinese and Western cuisine with your dining partners? 豐记 Chinese & Western Food Restaurant, which opened its doors on 29 Nov 2023 at 407 Jalan Besar, is the perfect solution for such dilemmas.
The restaurant is helmed by 45-year-old Penang native, Jacky, who has been in Singapore for over 12 years. Previously, he operated about 4 food stalls around the island before deciding to open his very own air-conditioned sit-down eatery.
On the Chinese section of the menu, there’s Penang Char Kway Teow (S$12.80) that’s loaded with fresh cockles, Chinese Sausage, tau geh, egg and prawns. There’s also Claypot Prawn Noodles (S$14.90) and Char Chee Cheong Fun (S$15.90) (stir-fried like noodles) available.
You’ll be able to get the classics from their Western food section like Grilled Chicken Chop (S$13.90), Fish & Chips (S$14.90) and Ribeye Steak (S$25.90). For something more unique, there’s also pizzas with a prata crust like Ham Bacon Pizza (S$19.90) and Smoked Duck Pizza (S$19.90).
If you’re craving for pasta or burger, there’s Carbonara (S$13.90), Vongole (S$14.90) and Fried Chicken Burger (S$18.90) available.
After all that food, you and your friends do not have to venture elsewhere for dessert. The menu also offers local options like Chendol (S$4.90) and Ice Kachang (S$4.90). For the little ones, there’s the tempting Ice Cream Mix (S$9.90) which will put a smile on their faces.
If you’re shopping around City Square Mall or in the neighbourhood of Lavender Street, make sure to drop by 豐记 Chinese & Western Food Restaurant for lunch or dinner… or anything in-between.
