Tony Yang is engaged and having a baby!
18 May – Tony Yang recently announced that he is engaged to his girlfriend of three years, Melinda Wang, and that they are having a baby.
As reported on Mingpao, the Taiwanese actor surprised fans with the news on social media with a photo of him and his fiancée, as well as the ultrasound photo of their unborn child, writing, "My fiancée Melinda and I are entering the next chapter of life!"
Fans and friends immediately flooded his post with congratulatory comments, including Valen Hsu, who wrote, "OMG! Big big congratulations!"
When asked about the announcement, Tony's assistant revealed that the couple will register their marriage soon, but that the wedding itself will not be held this year due to the pandemic.
"Tony is usually very low-key and since Melinda is an outsider, he wanted to protect her privacy. But having a baby is a happy thing, so he took the initiative to announce it," said the assistant.
As for Tony's thoughts on becoming a father, the assistant stated that the actor is happy since he had always wanted to have children.
Prior to Melinda, Tony was known to have dated Amber Kuo for four years before their breakup in 2015.
