Tony Labrusca learns to be more humble after immigration issue

21 Aug – Tony Labrusca recently revealed that he feels very humbled by the previous incident that occurred earlier this year, that nearly cost him his career in the Philippines.

As reported on PEP, the actor, who had a confrontation with an immigration supervisor in January that led to massive backlash, stated that one could just Google his name to realise how the issue had spiralled into something bigger than he expected.

"I learned a lot about humanity. It was a learning experience. This may sound like a cliché, but the experience was something that is just part of my journey, a learning process as a human being," he said.

Labrusca said that he has also learned not to get fame to his head.

"I take pride in the fact that I am not a very showbiz person, and of course, this is coming from me. I want to say that it never got to my head," he said.

Back in early January, the US citizen Labrusca expressed anger after he was given only 30-day stay in the Philippines due to his inability to show proof of Philippine citizenship and is not accompanied by Filipino parents. He insisted on a longer stay due to his status as an actor and ended up arguing with the officers.

He had since apologised to the Bureau of Immigration and to the officer that he confronted.
