Toni Gonzaga warns fans of investment scam

16 Mar – Toni Gonzaga recently warned fans of an investment scam using her name to gain attention from netizens.

On 14 March, the actress shared a screenshot of a supposed article that used ABS-CBN logo, titled "SPECIAL REPORT: Toni Gonzaga's Latest Investment Has Experts in Awe And Big Banks Terrified."

Pasting the word FAKE across the said article, Gonzaga wrote, "[Please] be wise about your money. This is not true. To everyone asking, this is not true. I'm not part of this."

This is not the first time that celebrities and public officials alike were used by scammers as bait to attract netizens' attention.

In December last year, the Department of Finance (DOF) clarified that the government was not involved in several investment schemes after some of these irresponsible scammers claimed that they have the approval of Secretary of Finance Carlos Dominguez III and President Rodrigo Duterte.
