Tong Yao is compared to Zhang Ziyi again
3 Sep – Tong Yao is graceful when responding to questions about her likeness to actress Zhang Ziyi, following the release of a recent teaser photo from her new drama.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who has been compared to the award-winning star for years now since she made her debut in 2002 in "Tracks In The Snowy Forest", got fans talking again about their similarity when photos from her new drama, "The Rebel" were released on Weibo, showing Tong wearing cheongsam and in pigtails as she sat reading a book.
Netizens also dubbed her "Little Zhang Ziyi", despite the fact that she is only six years younger than the latter.
When asked about the comparison between the two, Tong responded, "This is not good for an actor because you can't change how you look. I can only work harder and try not to discredit Ziyi when I'm outside."
