Todd Snyder Shoe Collaborations Over The Years: Vans, New Balance and More

Todd Snyders didn’t release his own sneaker until 2023, however, he had influenced the footwear space earlier than that through his partnerships with different brands. Snyders’ has an extensive collaborative portfolio that already includes top brands like Cole Haan, New Balance and Clarks.

Here is a look at Todd Snyder’s footwear collaborations over the years.

Todd Snyder x Cole Haan, 2015

The designer and Cole Haan collaborated on a line of men’s shoes for a spring 2015 collection. The two brands created six footwear styles, including derby lace-ups and penny loafers, all dressed in a muted colorway of grey, blue, black, and white. Each style was named after Lower Manhattan streets and featured a logo specifically designed for the capsule collection.

Todd Snyder and New Balance first collaborated in 2016 when they created a rendition of the NB1 998 style. Inspired by New York’s iconic Old Town Bar, the low top set took on a black and white colorway against a mesh and suede upper. The silhouette was completed with a gray speckled sole and the footwear brand’s N colored in white.

In 2016, Todd Snyder and PF Flyers reimagined the footwear brand’s Grounder Hi-Top. Inspired by the military, the set was composed of 14-ounce military-grade canvas dressed in two colorways, olive green and black. The sneakers featured a rugged outsole and leather lining along the sides of the lace-up closure. The set was completed with a ribbed toe cap.

In honor of Pride Month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, Todd Snyder and New Balance reimagined the sportswear brand’s iconic 990 sneaker. Colored in white peach, cedar quartz, and copper rose, the low-top style featured a plush suede and leather paneled upper and New Balance’s logo in rainbow lettering. The Love 997 retailed for $220.

In 2019, the two brands came together once again to release an exclusive iteration of the New Balance M997 sneaker. The shoe is dressed in earth tones to resemble aspects of the Hudson region of New York, like the greenery, the brick at the Hudson Train station, and the sights of Warren Street. The limited-edition set retailed for $235.

Todd Snyder x L.L. Bean, 2020

After debuting at New York Fashion Week in February 2020, Todd Snyder and L.L. Bean released a 50-piece assortment of apparel and footwear inspired by a mash-up of Maine outdoorsmen and downtown New Yorkers. The outdoor brand’s infamous Bean Boots were included in the selection. The hiking boots featured an olive green canvas and vibrant orange laces and soles.

Todd Snyder partnered with New Balance on a limited-edition collection of the 997 style. The “Triborough” line included three suede colorways: gray, blue and burgundy. The sets featured a gray heel panel above a white midsole. The low-top set’s signature “N” logo was replaced with the New Balance’s archival “Flying NB” branding. Each pair from the limited-edition collection retailed for $230.

Todd Snyder teamed up once again with New Balance in 2021 to reiterate the 992 sneakers. Inspired by a rustic cabin in the woods, the low-top sneaker featured a camouflage print overlaid by premium brown suede overlays. The set was completed with a red panel along the heel tab and lace-up closure. The limited-edition sneakers retailed for $275.

The two brands released three collaborative sneakers in 2021, with inspiration stemming from New York City’s farmers markets. The reimagined 327 styles featured a mesh and suede upper dressed in an inverted colorway that is supposed to resemble one food group: grains, fruits or vegetables. Completing each set is a food from each group embroidered on the tongue tag.

The designer teamed up with Converse in 2022 on a rendition for the Jack Purcell style. Along with apparel, the two brands released two colorways for the low-top style. One was in a navy suede upper while the other took on an off-white upper and a gum sole. The pairs were completed with a thin curved line along the toe.

Todd Snyder collaborated with Clarks Originals in September of 2023 to reimagine the footwear brand’s Caravan Boot. Released in gray and navy, the lace-up style features a hairy suede upper with a chunky sole. The set was crafted with Forest Stewardship Council-certified rubber crepe. It was inspired by one of Clarks’ archival 1970s styles. The set retails for $220.

The menswear brand collaborated with Vans on a rendition of the slip-on 98 DX. The “Dirty Martini” colorway included an olive green suede upper with a contrasting look coming from the white stitching and sole. Within the same collaboration, the colorway also took on the 73 DX sneaker which differentiated itself with a white heel cap and laces.

In 2023, Todd Snyder collaborated with FootJoy on a capsule collection inspired by golf fashion of the 1960s and ‘70s. Along with ready-to-wear items like pique polos, the collection includes two new premium pebble-grain leather golf shoes based on FootJoy’s Wilcox and Field Premiere Series models. Both silhouettes are dressed in white accompanied by a black camo sole.

Debuted at Todd Snyder’s fall 2024 runway show, the menswear brand collaborated on a footwear line with Sanders & Sanders. The two brands created a lineup of footwear that included boot and loafer styles. Dressed in neutral tones, each set was composed of leather and suede. In addition to the boot styles, the pairs were completed with a wooden sole.
