Tien Niu makes Hong Kong comeback with new CNY movie
20 Jan – Making her comeback to the Hong Kong film industry with her upcoming Lunar New Year film, "A Lifetime Treasure", actress Tien Niu admitted that she had missed working with a Hong Kong production very much.
As reported on Singtao Daily, the actress, who spoke to the media about doing the movie recently, shared that many people thought that she had retired from acting, even though she has actually been busy working in mainland China.
"I would never stop. I wouldn't even stop working for three days, otherwise I would feel ill! I'm like a race car. The more horsepower I get, the further I go," she said.
Tien also expressed her gratitude to the movie's producer, who saw her performance in a mainland movie and realised that she was still actively doing films.
In "A Lifetime Treasure", Tien plays Wai, one of the five retirees that is being taken care of by retired doctor Master (Andrew Lam) and his nurse Ching (Ivana Wong), and was previously a Chinese opera actress.
When asked why she decided to do the movie, Tien said that it was not the salary or the opportunity to work with Andrew Lam that drew her to the project, but the plot about caring for the elderly.
