tvN Asia Changes to Channel M Asia

TvN Asia, the channel that successfully relayed the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Global M Countdown and K-Con throughout the world, will be taking on a new look after changing its name to ′Channel M Asia′.

The channel will from then on start to center more on general K-Culture.

A rep from Channel M Asia stated, "From 7 p.m. on November 23 (KST), [the channel] will start to air as a new global brand in 10 countries across Asia - Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Australia and Indonesia. It will air K-Culture content produced by CJ E&M related to food, fashion, beauty, dramas, music and movies, and increase the number of self-produced content in order to find its place as the one and only K-Culture channel to represent Korea in the world."

The rep added, "The capital ′M′ represents the music channel Mnet, and was set in place after it was decided the Mnet brand has helped spread K-Pop and is more well-known in the world. The ′M′ brand has previously been successfully used in such projects as the global concert brand M-Live. It will continue to grow as a global brand that represents CJ E&M in the world."

TvN Asia is in its third year, and has been loved by many viewers across Asia for its unique formats. Soon it will air the popular tvN drama Reply 1997, and on November 30 it will relay 2012 MAMA live across Asia.
