Syafie Naswip is now a married man
26 Dec – Syafie Naswip surprised many recently by announcing that he has tied the knot with his chosen partner, Nur Afiqah Ishak.
The "Nenek Bongkok Tiga" actor shared the good news on 23 December with photos from his nikah ceremony held in Putrajaya as well as from the reception that was held soon after and was streamed live on social media.
Speaking about the marriage, Syafie, who made his name in the industry through Yasmin Ahmad's "Mukhsin", stated that he never intended to keep his relationship a secret, but that he just never spoke about it.
"As I got older, I thought it would be better if only the people close to me knew about this relationship. It's enough for our families and close friends who have been with us through thick and thin to know about me and Nur Afiqah," he said.
Syafie stated that the two of them first got to know each other when they worked together in a drama, but only started dating two months after shooting ended.
"We took six months to express our feelings towards each other and decide to get engaged in secret," he said.
He also apologised to fans for not revealing about his relationship prior to the marriage, but hopes that the ceremony, which he streamed live on Instagram, will be good enough for them.
