Summer Meng withdraws from new acting project amid husband Mickey Huang's scandal
22 Jun – It was revealed that Summer Meng has departed from her new movie to focus on taking care of her husband Mickey Huang.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who was supposed to make her postpartum comeback via "Save It, My Family Is Rich" (working title), has decided to withdraw herself from the project amid the recent sexual harassment allegations made against Mickey and his subsequent decision to expose many artistes on social media.
The team of the movie stated that they felt for Summer, and that while they wanted to wait for her and for the situation to settle down, the other party took the initiative to withdraw instead.
They are now preparing to find the suitable replacement, saying, "She should rest first. Nobody wanted this to happen."
It is noted that Mickey was rushed to the hospital after releasing the three videos in which he admitted to his wrongdoing and then accused many other artistes, 18 of them to be exact, of various misdeeds.
Sources claimed that the TV host might have attempted suicide after he uploaded the videos on social media. The videos have since been deleted.
