Steven Ma to establish organisation helping with noise nuisance

17 Feb – After sharing his woes with fans about the late night noise nuisance committed by his upstairs' neighbours, Steven Ma revealed that he had since had a good night's sleep.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke to the media regarding the issue after sharing with netizens about it on Facebook Live, stated that it was rare to feel such tranquility at night, and that the neighbours might have stopped all the commotion because of the media attention on the issue.

"I hope that this will definitely change. But I will continue to observe," he added.

In his previous Facebook Live event, Steven revealed that he had filed a lawsuit against his neighbours in hopes to end the noise problem once and for all, since the other party refused to back down and even threatened to smear his name due to the fact that he was a public figure.

Aside of establishing the Hong Kong Residential Noise Nuisance Victim Alliance page on Facebook, Steven stated that there will also be a civil organisation established to monitor such issue, where lawyers and relevant government officials will be invited to help people in need.

"At least I had a platform to lodge a complaint. Some residents have nowhere to go and are unable to take action. I hope to help these victims," he added.
