Sonija Kwok decides to reduce acting projects

12 Nov – Now that she is entering her mid-forties, Sonija Kwok admitted that she has decided to reduce her acting projects.

As reported on Mingpao, the 45-year-old actress, who spoke to the media at a charity event recently, shared that she realised that she is not young anymore and would not be able to go through difficult filming schedule like she had done in the past.

"I realised how hard it was when I was filming the new movie, "Back to the Past". The time was long, the studio was hot, the costumes were thick, and the shooting requirements were high," she said.

Thus, said Sonija, she would like to pick and choose the perfect project for her in the future and adjust her bodily condition before shooting.

The actress also admitted that the recent new restrictions implemented by the mainland censorship has made it difficult for both her and husband Zhu Shaojie, who works as a martial arts choreographer.

"But I will be optimistic. The less work you have, the more time you get with your daughter. We'll just find more work to earn money.

Sonija added that for now she plans to send her daughter to either study abroad in Canada or to transfer her to an international school.
