Shota Watanabe to star in adaptation of "Sensei Sayonara"

16 Nov - Snow Man member Shota Watanabe is set to star in the live-action adaptation of the popular manga, "Sensei Sayonara" by Yasuko Aoike.

The drama, which will be aired in January 2024 on Nippon TV, will have Shota playing the role of 27-year-old Takuro Tanura, an arts teacher, as well as the same character when he was 17.

Shota, who will be starring in a romance drama series for the first time, said, "I've often acted in comedies so far, so I felt a lot of pressure on myself to see if I could play a romantic drama. When I talked to the members about starring in a drama, everyone was really happy, but they also teased me."

Regarding playing both the role of a high school teacher and a high school student, he said, "I think it's really interesting because the two stories intertwine, and it feels like watching two dramas."

Meanwhile, the official theme song, "We'll Go Together" would be performed by his group, Snow Man. It was described as a "sad yet cheerful" song that talks about moving forward.
