Sheila Chin denies revealing status on birthday cake

10 Jul – Actress and former beauty queen Sheila Chin has recently laughed off latest speculations about her rumoured romance with businessman Lee Chengwu.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who never confirmed her relationship with Lee, recently shared photos from her 49th birthday gathering at a restaurant in Wan Chai, thanking her friends for celebrating with her.

However, speculations sparked that she is now married to Lee when netizens realised that the words on her cake read, "Happy Birthday Sheila Blessed Wife Love".

When asked about it, Sheila, who rarely responded to such rumours before, denied that the two of them are married.

The actress said that it was nothing more than a spelling error - that her friend who baked the cake misspelled "WITH" with "WIFE".

"An old woman of nearly 50 sitting under a dim light looking at a pink cake with words written in pink, how can one notice the words?" she said, adding that she is thankful to her friends for the party.
