Ryan Bakery denies calling son "crazy" in IG Story

25 Mar – Ryan Bakery has laughed off the idea that he called his son "crazy" in a recent video he shared on social media.

The social media influencer, who was asked about the controversy recently, shared that the misunderstanding occurred due to his use of the Perak dialect and not being very clear in his speech in a clip which he shared on Instagram Story.

"The story goes my wife and I were at the hospital for our child's checkup. I was playing with him and he was acting fussy, and then when he was being fed, he looked at me, so I said, "What are you looking at? Just drink it." (Minum aje ler, tengok-tengok pula).

Ryan said that his intonation and the unclear pronunciation of the words "minum aje ler" (just drink it), made it sound like he was saying "Minumlah, gila" (just drink it, crazy boy) instead.

"To me, it was just a matter of mishearing or misinterpreting. I was surprised that people who saw the clip sent me messages and slamming me for calling my kid 'crazy'," said Ryan.

The content creator stated that his manager advised him not to mind it, but that he felt compelled to explain so not to let people further spread misinformation.

"It is dangerous when you mishear something. I do have to be careful when speaking in front of the camera," he added.
