REVIEW: Pullman Singapore Orchard hotel is for those who love luxe aesthetics
Pullman Singapore Orchard is Singapore's first Pullman brand to make its debut here on our tiny dot and we're here for it.
Pullman Singapore Orchard is Singapore's first Pullman brand to make its debut here on our tiny dot, and we're here for it. The hotel building is situated on a prime site along Orchard Road, Singapore's famed retail district, as it replaced another hotel, the former Grand Park Orchard.
Across the world, the Accor-owned brand Pullman has a mix of lifestyle and business hotels to cater to different travellers' needs. Here in Singapore, the fashion-inspired Pullman Singapore Orchard intends to celebrate the fashion powerhouses through its design and decor showcase. Art and fashion artefacts are placed at every corner to spark creativity and inspire, and impactful materials create bold and compelling spaces, while common spaces take on a retail design aesthetic.
Let's deep-dive into some of the experiences curated by the hotel to see if they're worthwhile.

Reasons to stay in this hotel
For those who prefer contactless check-in, the experience of checking in via the hotel's mobile app and digital room keys is seamless. Depending on the party size, you can choose from 326 stylish rooms and suites in nine configurations, ranging from the Classic Rooms to the Presidential Suite.
Upon first impressions, the Club Residence Room has a sexy, retro vibe, thanks to the different metal fixture options and the use of black, gold, and brass colours. The bathroom was a sizeable space, with his and hers bathroom for a couple to have their own space for their grooming business. I also liked the wavy glass tiles that turn the bathroom into an inviting space.
The pool area on level four, dubbed P.S.O Beach Club, does not offer an infinity view over Orchard Road, but I found that it has sufficient space for a dip, a perfect respite from the sweltering heat. At night, the ambience of the pool area is much sexier, with dim lights lightly reflecting against the cabanas.
For those on business trips, the Atelier Lounge has both a couch area and high table tops to work from, and you can order drinks from the bar area. Hotel guests can take business calls at the Archive Club, which is tastefully decorated with an assortment of knick-knacks like fashion books and artefacts. It's telling when you want to steal that interior design idea for your own home.

When it comes to food, Eden Restaurant have perfected its formula for modern and Asian-inspired cuisine with a flair. Walking into the restaurant, the setting immediately reminds me of enclosed bateaux-mouches, excursion boats that operate in Paris and Amsterdam. The food was a delight from the start to the end: some of my favourite dishes were the generous golden brown Eden Crab Cakes (S$30++), White Sesame Hokkaido Milk Puff ($16++), where fried sesame puffs are filled with creamy Hokkaido milk and served with a fragrant lemon curd and the salmon spicy coconut (S$32++) that's drizzled with the right amount of spice with a kick. The glasshouse-like setting also makes for a romantic date night for couples or a gathering among friends.
Because of its strategic location, there is a handful of shopping malls that are worth a visit. Off-White, Miu-Miu and Gucci at Paragon Mall are always a good idea; so are local brands like Beyond The Vines and The Editor's Market at Takashimaya.
For gym enthusiasts, Ritual Gym is just located next door, if you're looking to fit in 30 minutes of HIIT training.
What could be done better
I would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers who love luxe aesthetics or are young at heart.
However, in the bedroom area of the Club Residence Room, I am not a fan of the split level or the two-step stairs separating the entrance and the sleeping area as I'm a clumsy person and will knock into things, particularly well into the night when one wakes up to head to the bathroom.
Pullman Singapore Orchard is located at 270 Orchard Road, Singapore 238857.
