Rainie Yang addresses past romance with Alien Huang

8 Oct – Rainie Yang recently admitted that it took her a while to agree to perform at the special tribute concert for Alien Huang, seeing how their past romance has been continuously highlighted by the media and netizens alike since the singer's passing.

As reported on Mingpao, Rainie, who addressed the relationship during the memorial concert, stated that she couldn't say much about the nature of her relationship with Huang, seeing that people will make up their own mind and magnify the matter no matter how much she explained.

"It's rare for love to transform into friendship, familial love and kinship, so I won't blame people who won't understand this and I think he won't blame you too," she said.

Rainie and Huang dated while they were still in school, but ended the relationship soon after she made her showbiz debut. She is now married to Chinese singer-songwriter Li Ronghao while Huang was secretly dating Taiwanese cheerleader Wu Han-chun prior to his death.

Rainie also mentioned that Huang once appeared as a guest performer at her concert in Kaohsiung two years ago on the same date, adding, "I never thought I would return the favour in this way."

The singer also performed Jam Hsiao's song, "I Can Only Miss You" at the said concert, and changed a line in the lyrics from, "You will find a new life" to "You will return to your planet" to better suit her late friend.
