Pullman Singapore Hill Street review: The hotel provides exceptional guest experience with a modern touch
Let's take a look at some of Pullman Singapore Hill Street's experiences and offerings and gauge if a stay is worthwhile.
With a slew of new hotel openings in Singapore, I was curious to find out if the buzzy five-star Pullman Singapore Hill Street hotel that opened in October 2023, is worth a stay for your next vacation or staycation. Located on Hill Street, the civic and cultural heart of Singapore, the hotel is just a 5-minute drive to Marina Bay and a walking distance to some of the best landmarks in Singapore, including National Museum of Singapore, Fort Canning and Asian Civilisations Museum.
Previously, I stayed at the sister hotel, Pullman Singapore Orchard, which is located in the heart of the retail district and I loved it. Expectations-wise, I was hoping for the same service quality, if not, better.
Let's take a look at some of the experiences and offerings and gauge if a stay is worthwhile.

Reasons to stay in Pullman Singapore Hill Street
Walking into the hotel entrance reminds me of old New York, with design aesthetics mirroring the landscape of a railway station. The woody, metal juxtaposition feels to some like stepping back into time.
Luggage after luggage fitted into the walls feels like a magical Harry Potter moment waiting to happen (or so, my imagination runs). With the company of a Pullman Porter, I took the lift up to the reception area for a seamless room check-in.
My first impressions of the Studio Suite, which is the largest room offering, were: spacious, clean, sleek, and minimalist. For once I am thankful for misted bathroom walls because, wouldn't it be awkward if you're checking in with a friend, but still would like some privacy? There isn't a corner dedicated to a workspace, but a sofa – not a footstool – placed at the end of the bed with a small coffee table worked just alright. The wardrobe's open shelving concept was not really to my liking, however, most of the cabinets were closed storage style to hide your things.
The bathroom has a sizeable tub, perfect for a warm soak after a long day on your feet. Marble top bathroom counter and walls give it a sexy, warm ambiance. Amenities were duly provided by C.O. Bigelow, an American apothecary-pharmacy brand that contains moisture-replenishing ingredients for your skin. The scent was lovely as it was a combination of citrus and woody notes.
I slept well in the bed; it felt like a hard bed to provide some form of support that's good for people like me who sleep on their stomachs.
There are two pool areas for this hotel. The pool area at Level 3, sandwiched between the hotel towers, beckons you for a lap or two. It's quite a magnificent view and trust me, lounging at the pool area is worthwhile. I must also add, the Power Fitness Gym is a full space equipped with a sled push, a spin bike and more! A fitness goer would approve of this space!

At El Chido bar that's open to the public, a rooftop pool with unobstructed views overlooks the Marina Bay skyline. Yes, members of the public can use this pool if they opt to have drinks here at the bar with Mexican vibes.
Dinner at the New York City deli-inspired restaurant Madison's was fun because the food portion was upsized. Honestly, I was sad about food wastage as the portions were huge!
The Mad's Fried Chicken (S$20) was cooked to perfection and the Smoked Chicken Waldorf Salad (S$24) had a nice sweet and healthy crunch to it. I would also recommend the 'Pull-ed Man' Braised Pork Shoulder (S$32) and the Empire State Burger (S$34) for those who have a big appetite.
For drinks, head over to the sexy Moga, a modern Japanese Izakaya and cocktail bar that serves craft cocktails in a speakeasy setting. Drinks were inspired by Japanese culture – order the Smoking Yakuza that's infused with coconut butter and Michter's Bourbon or the Calpino 24 if you like your drinks sweetly tinged with yuzu. For diners, you can also order meals like the Moga Samurai Roll (S$30), Fresh Garden Roll (S$22), or the yummy Moga Katsu Sando (S$24).
For breakfast, enjoy a spread of cold cuts, and even a huge honeycomb for your liking. The congee and fishball soup were comforting on a rainy morning.
The service staff from the reception to F&B outlets were all accommodating, friendly, happy to make small talk, and answer my questions along the way. I always think that the heart of a hotel lies in its people, and I'm glad that the exceptional human touch and connection are still evident here.
